Runoff Formation 1990

Summary

Information on the volume and distribution of rain can be used to determine the runoff, i.e. the ability of soil to absorb water or allow it to drain away, among other things. The runoff formation is calculated from the difference between the long-term annual means of precipitation and actual evaporation.

This subject is continued in our “Water Balance” topic. Here, the Berlin ABIMO water balance model has been used to model the development of precipitation in the form of long-term means. The model also takes into account the water parameters percolation and evaporation. This data forms the basis for calculating groundwater recharge.
