Hello!
We are the Mitmach-Laden – a public-participation space in Neukölln.
If you want to know where new things are being planned in Neukölln and how you can get involved with them, you’re in the right place!
What do we actually do?
We collect information on initiatives happening within the district and publish them on mein.berlin.de. Initiatives include things such as road reconstruction, building a new playground or the introduction of traffic calming measures. Every initiative comes with a fact sheet containing all the most important information.
If it is possible to get involved with an initiative, there is also a participation concept, which contains everything you need to know so you can lend a hand. Examples of important questions include: How much scope is there for participation? What is the time frame? What formats will be used? Who decides on the implementation?
We can advise you on how you can get involved and we tackle all your questions regarding planning in Neukölln.
We advertise ways to get involved in the district and include multipliers in the processes.
We organise training on the topics of participation, presentation and the self-organisation of groups.
We ensure that the standards for participation, as set out in the guidelines, are implemented as well as they possibly can be. For example, we advise the administration department on how to implement participation.
If necessary, we can also arrange translation and interpreting for events.
Why are we here?
We aim to implement the Guidelines for Public Participation in Neukölln. These guidelines have been in place for the whole of Berlin since 2019 and were developed in a participative process. For example, they state that every district needs to establish a contact point for public participation. That is who we are.
The district of Neukölln adopted its own guidelines at the end of 2020. Some of the aims of these guidelines are to collect and publicise all of the district’s initiatives, make participation processes more transparent and involve as many people affected as possible. The guidelines are voluntarily implemented by the district, meaning they are not enshrined in law.
