The Gothic House in the historic centre of Spandau

Life in the city - a tour through six centuries.

The upper floor of the Gothic House houses an exhibition on the history of urban life and living in Spandau.
It sheds light on the history of this unique house using archaeological finds such as glazed stove tiles and coins.
There is a model of the house where the walls can be opened, giving visitors an impression of the original building
structure, which hides a number of secrets.
The tour tells of everyday life in the town and invites you to join in, for example singing, guessing and playing theatre.

An exhibition for the whole family.

It is one of the oldest surviving town houses in the entire Berlin area. The core building was probably erected by a
merchant as early as the 15th century. At that time, it was only one of a few stone houses in the region.

Thanks to an architectural history study and subsequent extensive restoration work at the end of the 1980s, the
building can now be seen in its original state. The late Gothic building with its ribbed vaulting and the architectural
changes of the following centuries, such as the remodelling in neoclassical style around 1800, allow you to immerse
yourself in history.

The Gothic House is a branch of the Spandau Citadel Museum of City History.

Changing (art) exhibitions and events take place on the ground floor / gallery.
