Aydın Öztek - As long as the heart beats (Solange das Herz schlägt)

In his vibrant compositions, Spandau-based artist Aydın Öztek celebrates a diverse range of colors,
light, and motion — a stark contrast to his own experience of sudden blindness in 2009. Guided by
an intricate numerical system, his creations manifest in his mind's eye, brought to life with unconven-
tional tools like toothpaste tube ends, combs, or massage balls, adhering to the mantra "Anything but
brushes is allowed!"

Öztek's exploration of expressive abstract painting is deeply rooted in his personal journey, pushing
boundaries and textures to enhance the interplay of light and shadow on the canvas. From humble
beginnings, his artworks have evolved into large-scale wall panels, transforming the act of applying
color into a powerful performance of resilience and creativity.
