Regional Socio-Educational Office

Our goal is to help parents meet their parental responsibility to promote the personal development of young people and protect them from harm. It is also our job to prevent situations of crisis and conflict within families and to support parents and families in dealing with such situations when they do arise.
The Regional Socio-Educational Office always seeks to cooperate with parents and provides them with competent assistance in their search for sustainable solutions.
Our social workers will be happy to inform you about the counseling and support services that are available and suitable. They are also happy to put you in touch with other offices and counseling services. Our employees are well networked in their region and cooperate with numerous institutions and service providers (counseling services, schools, day care centers, family centers…).
You can of course simply visit the appropriate office during its consultation hours, without speaking to us first. But if you want to make sure that you are going to the right office and wish to avoid waiting times, it makes sense to check that the office you are visiting is indeed responsible for the issue you wish to address. You can do so by speaking to our employees at the local office, or to our day-service employees. We will be happy to provide you with an individual appointment.

Krisenteam im Jugendamt Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg

The Crisis Team at the Youth Welfare Department of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg

Since July of 2016 a Crisis Team for the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district evaluates all reports on possible threats to a child’s welfare. Such reports can be delivered electronically, in writing, by telephone or in person.
The Crisis Team is located on the fourth floor of the Youth Welfare Department of Region III, Adalbertstr. 23b, 10997 Berlin.
The purpose of this pro-active service is to be on site quickly and to formulate assessments according to the four-eye principle, in order to recognize threats to child welfare. Moreover, initial activity options and security models can be put in place promptly by the Crisis Team. As a result, the Regional Socio-Educational Office of the Youth Welfare Department is unburdened in its everyday work, as incoming reports on threats to child welfare are responded to by the Crisis Team. The Regional Socio-Educational Office is thereby enabled to focus on providing aid, counsel and support to the families it works with and their children.
