The info boards describe how the barriers were built up at this location, which was once a regular stop on the tours given to heads of state and delegations visiting East or West Berlin. The Berlin Wall’s semi-circular course in front of Brandenburg Gate is marked in the asphalt on Platz des 18. März with a double row of cobblestones. An “information post” about the Berlin Wall across from Hotel Adlon shows memorial sites and other reminders of the past on a map.
