The Berlin Police is internationally active in various fields both within the European Union and in third countries. The unit “PPr St I 3 – International Affairs” in Police Headquarters Staff, is responsible for the implementation of the majority of the activities. The international agenda of the Berlin Police includes the following four areas.

Initiation and implementation of and participation in EU-funded projects

By applying for EU funding and participating in externally initiated projects, a valuable contribution is made to Europe-wide cooperation, the development of innovative concepts and overall internationalisation. More information

Foreign missions and international support operations

For more than 25 years, the Berlin Police has participated in various bilateral foreign missions, as well as missions of the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU) and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) by deploying officers. More information

Internship programmes and short-term assignments abroad

In addition to longer-term missions abroad on the basis of international mandates, the Berlin Police operates various internship programmes with the aim of bilateral and multilateral exchange of experience. More information
