Hannah Höch Förderpreis

Target group / Purpose of funding

The Hannah Höch Förderpreis is awarded to professional artists and established groups of artists based in Berlin in recognition of their previous achievements and with the aim of supporting their future development. This mid-career prize was established to raise the profile of award-winners within Berlin’s cultural landscape and to enable artists to present their work to a wider audience.

Eligibility and conditions

  • Professional artists and established groups based in Berlin with a track record of producing high-calibre work are eligible for this award.
  • Artists/groups may not have produced a catalogue raisonné to date.
  • Artists applying to this award programme must live and work in Berlin.
  • Applicants may not be enrolled at a higher education institution.

Funding volume

The Hannah Höch Förderpreis comes with a purse of €38,000 – including €10,000 in prize money. The remaining €28,000 are to be used for the presentation of the project and the production of a catalogue.

Invitation for applications

As a rule, a call for applications to this programme is made every two years in October. The award ceremony is staged in the month of November in conjunction with the Hannah Höch Prize, marking the birthday of Hannah Höch on 1 November 1889.
