Alfred Döblin House Residency Award
This residency at the Alfred Döblin House in Wewelsfleth (Schleswig-Holstein) is awarded by the Alfred Döblin Prize Foundation. The House was donated by Günter Grass to the Federal State of Berlin for the promotion of writers and literary culture. Residency stipends are provided to the Alfred Döblin Prize Foundation by the Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
The programme was established for the purpose of supporting writers from Berlin who have proven their abilities in previous publications or otherwise demonstrated their literary aptitude in work samples. The residency programme enables writers to concentrate on their literary work and provides authors with an opportunity to commence previously planned writing, to complete drafts and continue or complete works previously begun.
