Online-Antrag für die Verlängerung von Aufenthaltserlaubnissen aus humanitären Gründen / Online application for the extension of residence permits on humanitarian grounds

Ab sofort kann auch die Verlängerung einer Aufenthaltserlaubnis aus humanitären Gründen digital beantragt werden.

Dies gilt für humanitäre Aufenthaltserlaubnisse nach eine dieser Rechtsgrundlagen: § 22, § 23, § 23a, § 25, § 25a oder § 25b Aufenthaltsgesetz (AufenthG).

Wenn Sie einen Reiseausweis für Ausländer, für Flüchtlinge oder für Staatenlose besitzen, können Sie auch dessen Verlängerung mit beantragen.

Bitte beachten Sie:

• Nutzen Sie für einen Antrag auf Verlängerung einer Aufenthaltserlaubnis aus humanitären Gründen bitte ausschließlich unseren Online-Antrag.
• Bitten um einen Termin über ein Kontaktformular sind hierfür nicht ausreichend und kein Ersatz für den Online-Antrag.
• Anträge, die unsere Behörde auf anderen Wegen erreichen (z.B. per Kontaktformular, Brief oder E-Mail), können aus organisatorischen Gründen nur nachrangig bearbeitet werden.
• Wichtiger Hinweis für Familien: Ihr Ehepartner und Ihr Kind oder Ihre Kinder leben mit Ihnen in Berlin und benötigen ebenfalls die Verlängerung der Aufenthaltserlaubnis? Dann müssen für diese bitte jeweils eigene Anträge gestellt werden.Der Antrag kann immer nur für eine Person gestellt werden.

Wie läuft das Online-Antragsverfahren?

• Nach dem Absenden Ihrer Daten im Online-Antrag wird Ihnen ein PDF-Dokument als Bestätigung Ihres Antrags angezeigt.
• Damit wird bescheinigt, dass Ihre Aufenthaltserlaubnis über das bisherige Gültigkeitsdatum hinaus im Bundesgebiet weiter gültig bleibt. Dies gilt allerdings nicht, wenn Ihre Aufenthaltserlaubnis am Tag der Antragstellung bereits abgelaufen ist.
• Bitte speichern Sie sich dieses Dokument deshalb unbedingt ab und drucken es zudem nach Möglichkeit aus. Das PDF-Dokument können Sie zum Beispiel gegenüber anderen Behörden oder Arbeitgebern als Nachweis über den Fortbestand Ihrer Aufenthaltserlaubnis vorlegen.
• Nachdem Sie den Online-Antrag „Aufenthaltserlaubnis aus humanitären Gründen – Verlängerung“ gestellt haben, wird das LEA den Antrag prüfen und sich schnellstmöglich bei Ihnen melden.
• Wenn Sie für die Aufenthaltserlaubnis und/oder die Neuausstellung eines Reiseausweises Gebühren bezahlen müssen, erhalten Sie per E-Mail vom LEA eine Zahlungsaufforderung. Bitte bezahlen Sie die Gebühren dann innerhalb von 14 Tagen.
• Wenn Ihr Antrag positiv geprüft wurde, erhalten Sie einen Termin zur Vorsprache.
• Wegen der sehr hohen Zahl an Anträgen kann es etwas dauern, bis Sie eine Rückmeldung zu Ihrem Antrag erhalten. Sehen Sie bitte in dieser Zeit von Nachfragen ab.

From now on, applications for extension of a residence permit on humanitarian grounds can also be submitted digitally

This applies to humanitarian residence permits based on one of the following legal grounds: Sections 22, 23, 23a, 25, 25a, or 25b of the Residence Act (AufenthG).

If you have a travel document for foreigners, refugees, or stateless persons, you can also apply for its renewal.

Please note:

• To apply for an extension of a residence permit on humanitarian grounds, please use only our online application.
• Requests for an appointment via a contact form are not sufficient and are no substitute for the online application.
• Applications that reach us by other means (e.g. via contact form, letter or e-mail) can only be processed secondarily for organizational reasons.
• Important note for families: Does your spouse and child or children live with you in Berlin and also require an extension of their residence permit? If so, separate applications must be submitted for each of them. Applications can only be submitted for one person at a time.

How does the online application process work?

• After submitting your data in the online application, you will be shown a PDF document confirming your application.
• This document will certify that your current residence permit remains valid in the federal territory beyond the previous validity date. This does not apply if your residence permit has already expired on the day of application.)
• Please make sure to save this document and print it out if possible. You can present the PDF document to other authorities or employers, for example, as proof of the continued validity of your residence permit.
• After you have submitted the online application “Residence permit on humanitarian grounds – extension”, the LEA will review the application and contact you as soon as possible.
• If you have to pay fees for the residence permit and/or the reissue of a travel document, you will receive a payment request from the LEA by email. Please pay the fees within 14 days.
• If your application has been approved, you will receive an appointment for an interview.
• Due to the very high number of applications, it may take some time before you receive a response to your application. Please refrain from making any inquiries during this time.
