Sony World Photography Awards 2023

Nature photography, portraits and abstracts - in 2023, the Sony World Photography Award will once again honor the best contemporary photographers.

The Sony World Photography Awards were launched in 2007 and have been presented annually since then. Every year, numerous international photographers take part in the competition. In 2018, with Candida Höfer, a German photographer was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution to Photography" for the first time.

Winner of the Sony World Photography Awards 2023

This year's edition of the Sony World Photography Awards received more than 300,000 submissions from 200 countries. The exhibition in Berlin honors works from the entire spectrum of photography. From art students and amateurs to professional photographers, great photographs from every perspective and in every style will be shown. The title "Photographer of the Year" goes to the renowned photographer Edgar Martins (Portugal) for his series Our War, a tribute to his good friend, the photojournalist Anton Hammerl, who was killed in the Libyan civil war in 2011.
