The main concern of the Startup Unit Berlin, the official association of the State of Berlin with organizations and associations from the startup ecosystem, is to improve the political framework for startups in the capital.
The Startup Unit consists of:
- a core group with representatives from State-run Berlin institutions and organizations with a startup focus,
- an advisory board with representatives from private sector interest groups in the startup scene,
- and thematic working groups consisting of the members of the Core Group and the Advisory Board.
The Startup Unit has the following overall goals:
- Institutionalized exchange between the startup scene and the Berlin administration
- Identification and formulation of startup-relevant needs for action for Berlin politics
- Determination of needs and initiation of initiatives for the startup scene
