Berlin offers service companies the advantage of a large local market with around 3.7 million consumers. The communications, consulting and service industries in particular are recording strong momentum. New services are also in demand in the Berlin information and communications technology environment.
One of the main economic sectors of the city is the tourism industry. In 2024, Berlin was able to enjoy about 30 million overnight stays and roughly 13 million visitors from all over the world. The proportion of international overnight stays was 42 percent.
