Shopping in Berlin is getting easier again. From Friday (Feb. 18, 2022) on, the 2G rule, according to which only vaccinated or recovered people had access to many retail stores, no longer applies.
There will be no more status checks at the entrance to fashion stores, electronics markets or department stores - youe phone with the digital vaccination certificate can stay in the bag. Instead, FFP2 masks are mandatory when shopping. The Senate has made a similar decision for the cultural sector: in museums, galleries and memorial sites, the 2G rule also no longer applies.
However, visitors must wear an FFP2 mask in indoor areas. The same rule applies at the Berlin Zoo, including the aquarium, the Friedrichsfelde Zoo (Tierpark), and the Botanical Garden in Lichterfelde. The Senate has also removed the 2G rule for some indoor tourist attractions. These include sightseeing tours, excursions and boat trips. In this case, wearing an FFP2 mask is also mandatory.
