The 29-euro ticket for buses and trains in Berlin will return on July 1.
This was announced by Transport Senator Manja Schreiner (CDU) on Tuesday after a meeting of the Senate.
Advance sales for the ticket for the AB area, which will only be available as a subscription, will begin on Tuesday next week, said Schreiner. Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey (SPD) added that the ticket should help to ensure that life in Berlin remains affordable. It is also a contribution on the way to climate neutrality. The introduction of the 29-euro ticket, which is to run parallel to the nationwide 49-euro ticket, had been discussed for a long time. The Berlin SPD had campaigned for it in the run-up to the 2023 parliamentary elections.
