Whether after a concert, on the way to the next party or to the hotel: Buses and trains run at night in Berlin. S- and U-Bahn, however, only provide a 24-hour service on weekends. On weekdays, night buses and the Metrotram take over and provide transport through the night.

Public Transport at Night: Monday to Friday

In nights from Sunday to Monday until Thursday to Friday, U-Bahn and S-Bahn trains operate only until 1 a.m. or 1.30 a.m., depending on the line. After that time, they are replaced by night buses.

The S-Bahn operates until app. 1/1.30 a.m.

The U-Bahn operates until app. 1 a.m.

The Metrotram operates 24 hours, in 30 minute intervals from 0.30 a.m.

Night buses: The most important bus lines have equivalent night bus lines. The night buses N1, N2, N3, N5, N6, N7, N8 and N9 roughly follow the U-Bahn routes.

Public Transport at Night: Weekends

In nights from Friday to Saturday, from Saturday to Sunday and before bank holidays, the S-Bahn and U-Bahn services also operate at the night. Night buses and trams run all night as well.

The S-Bahn operates 24 hours, in 30-minute-intervals during the night.

The U-Bahn operates 24 hours, in 15-minute-intervals during the night. Exception: The U-Bahn lines U4 and U55 are not served.

The Metrotram runs 24 hours, in 30-minute intervals from 0.30 a.m.

Night buses that carry the letter N replace all important bus lines.
