Current information on service

For reasons of protection against infection, we have had to switch our operation largely to online and written procedures in the last few months.
From 7th September onwards Berlin Immigration Office will re-open for regular customer appointments.
Opening hours at our office at Friedrich-Krause-Ufer:- Mondays and Tuesdays 7am-2pm
- Thursdays 9am-5pm;
- otherwise by appointment only
- Thursdays 9am-5pm
- otherwise by appointment only
Please note: For reasons of protection against infection our primary focus remains on service by appointment. (in emergencies: see information below).
Hygiene precautions at our offices
- entry to the building permitted only if wearing a mouth-nose covering
- non-contact temperature measurement taken on arrival.
Please understand that, in order to protect against infection, we can’t serve you if you do not wear a mouth-nose covering or are displaying symptoms of infection.
Online registration
Have you already registered online on our website but have not yet received an appointment or a certificate?
- Please do not come to Berlin Immigration Office in person without an appointment, if you are already registered online.
- We ask for a little patience. You will receive an appointment or a new residence document from us as soon as possible by post.
Is it still possible to register online on the website?
- For individuals whose residency title is due to expire (for example national D-Visa or residence permit):
- A registration in our online form remains possible.
- We will issue personal appointments as soon as possible to all registered individuals.
- Individuals who are going through the asylum process (Aufenthaltsgestattung) or who are required to leave Germany (e.g. with a Duldung or a border crossing certificate):
- Online registration is no longer possible after 4th September 2020.
- Please come to Berlin Immigration Office from 7th September 2020 onwards during our regular opening hours.

Should you urgently need to travel, please send an email including your travel ticket and stating the reason for your travel to the office unit responsible for you. We will then issue you with an appointment in time.
