Electric scooters - also known as e-scooters - are the latest form of electric mobility on Berlin's streets. Electric pedal scooters are small, manoeuvrable and particularly suitable for covering shorter distances quickly and comfortably. In Berlin, the electric scooters are approved by the sharing operators like Lime, Bird or Tier. Since mid-June 2019, scooters with electric drive can also be conveniently rented in Berlin via app, just like bicycles, cars and scooters (motorcycles). It is hoped that e-scooters help to relieve the heavy traffic in the city centre.

It is forbidden to drive electric scooters on sidewalks and in pedestrian zones. Violations may result in a fine. Do not park your scooter in the middle of sidewalks or in driveways.
