One of the main sociopolitical objectives of the Senate of Berlin is to enforce the right to equal treatment and non-discrimination. The State Office for Equal Treatment and against Discrimination (LADS) was established for this purpose in 2007. It is assigned to the Department for Justice, Consumer Protection and Anti-Discrimination.
