The lovingly recreated details of the highly accurate LEGO Town Hall make it a magnet for visitors. The miniature beehives and solar panels have counterparts on the roof of the real Red Town Hall.
Since 2019, a colony of about 30,000 bees have lived there and made small-scale honey production possible. The Beekeepers’ Association of Reinickendorf-Mitte cares for the busy insects. In 2024, as in previous years, its members harvested nearly 80 kilograms of honey. Glass jars filled with Red Town Hall honey are a popular gift for guests. Beyond the Red Town Hall, bees also live on the roofs of the Senate Department of the Interior and the Berlin House of Representatives.
The solar panels were installed on the Red Town Hall in 2010 and save about 23 tons of CO₂ each year.
The LEGO model is on a scale of 1:60. It was built by René Hoffmeister, the only LEGO Certified Professional model builder in Germany. He built the LEGO Town Hall in 200 hours using 78,750 LEGO bricks.
