The corona incidence in Berlin was around 403 on Thursday.
This was announced by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Thursday. A week ago, the figure was around 280. For Germany as a whole, the figure given on Thursday, which indicates the registered new infections per 100,000 people in seven days, was 533.
However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. For some time now, experts have been assuming that there is a high number of cases not recorded by the RKI - especially because not all infected persons have a PCR test. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.
According to the RKI, 3786 new infections were reported for Berlin within one day on Thursday. The total number of registered cases has risen to more than 1,086,000 since the start of the pandemic in spring 2020. Three additional deaths were reported. According to the official figures, there have thus been 4638 deaths related to Corona infections in Berlin since the start of the pandemic.
