The organizing association, Zug der Liebe e.V., is made up of musicians, media professionals and other music enthusiasts. The organizers want "Zug der Liebe" to be clearly distinguished from major events such as the Love Parade or the Carnival of Cultures and see the event as a political demonstration that wants to set an example for community values, love and compassion.

As in previous years, the demonstration will start at Mauerpark in Prenzlauer Berg. The route then leads along Danziger Straße past Volkspark Friedrichshain to Frankfurter Tor. From there it goes west on Frankfurter Allee. On Andreasstraße, it goes over Schilling Bridge across the Spree. Via Köpenicker Straße and Heinrich-Heine-Straße, the procession finally leads to Moritzplatz. The afterparty will take place at Ritter Butzke starting at 10 PM.
