Healthcare, quantum algorithms, drone fleets, cancer therapy, security in Europe: On July 2, 2025, outstanding Berlin-based companies were honored with the Deep Tech Award. The Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy, and Public Enterprises once again recognized particularly innovative, application-oriented products from the capital that combine high technological standards with social relevance. As last year, the award ceremony took place in the Säälchen. The winners were honored with prize money of €10,000 each.
For the tenth anniversary of the Deep Tech Award, there were more than 100 applications, which were reviewed and evaluated by a jury of experts. Of these more than 100 applications, 15 companies came out on top. In the end, however, there could only be one winner in each category: Artificial Intelligence, Photonics & Quantum Technologies, Robotics, Sustainable & Social Impact, and Web3 – DLT, Blockchain, NFT & Metaverse.
Franziska Giffey, Mayor and Senator for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises: “Today, we are not only celebrating the presentation of the Deep Tech Award, but also ten years of innovation and progress. In a world marked by political, social, and ecological upheaval, it is essential that we in Europe focus on technological sovereignty. Deep tech is an important building block for a sustainable and sovereign economy. I congratulate the award-winning innovators, who are making a significant contribution to overcoming the challenges of our time with their commitment and creativity.“
