In addition to the royal apartments with their art treasures, the approximately 600 precious objects allow visitors to experience other facets of Prussian court culture - and immerse themselves in a sparkling world of royal court life and princely ceremonies.

Silver Collection

The collection of historical tableware made of gold, silver, glass and porcelain, which was once kept in the Court Silver Collection, is unique in its scope and cultural-historical significance.

Around 100 court services have been preserved, some of them complete, and are fascinating for their richness of colour and form. The composition and design of the services, some of which are presented in the exhibition in the form of set tables, reflect the fashions, culinary preferences and ceremonial customs of the court table between the Baroque and Historicist periods.

Tabatières of Frederick the Great

The tabatières of Frederick the Great, made of coloured semi-precious stones and set with gold and diamonds, are a treasure of a completely different kind. The king, who was otherwise distant from traditional courtly luxury, possessed an exquisite collection of precious tobacco boxes which he always wanted to have close at hand. Eight of these breathtakingly beautifully designed precious objects are now presented as part of the permanent exhibition "The Hohenzollern Silver Collection".
