In this context, a selection of Picasso's works from the Museum Berggruen will enter into dialogue with Spanish works of art from the 14th to the 18th century at the Bode-Museum. Here, it becomes immediately apparent how much Picasso's own artistic practice was influenced by Spanish art history - continuities as well as ruptures become clear in this dialogical format. At the same time, the exhibition marks the beginning of the new series "Spanish Dialogues" at the Bode-Museum, in which the Spanish collections are presented beyond the usual hierarchies or boundaries of time and art genre.
