Berlin's Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey has called for vaccination efforts to continue.

Greater focus on outreach and decentralized vaccination

"Slowing down now is not an option," the vice chair of the Conference of State Premiers said on Wednesday (Feb. 16, 2022) after a federal-state meeting on the Coronavirus pandemic. Giffey believes that there needs to be even more emphasis on outreach efforts and decentralized vaccination. Overcoming language barriers is also important, she said.

More offers and more local approach

"There is definitely still potential if we address people locally in the neighborhoods with trusted people in different languages," Giffey said. "The two recipes for success are quite simple," the SPD politician said: on the one hand, building trust through people acting as multipliers, and on the other hand, more offers and more efforts to address people locally. "That's what we have to focus on."
