Europe's largest zoo will be bathed in Christmas lights again this year with «Weihnachten im Tierpark» (Christmas in the Tierpark). The historical Friedrichsfelde Palace is at the heart of the luminous Christmas tour.
After the «Christmas Garden» in the Botanical Garden in Dahlem, «Christmas in the Tierpark» is the capital's second large-scale light installation. Finally, the east of the city gets its light exhibition in the nature.
Visitors to the Tierpark in Friedrichsfelde can take a two-kilometre circular walk through the colourfully illuminated park at Christmas time. A total of 30 light sculptures will be on display. Illuminated treetops, shining stars along the way and light shows on the water lead the way to the festively illuminated Friedrichsfelde Palace. A highlight of «Christmas in the Tierpark» is certainly the ice rink at the foot of the castle, where guests can skate along to Christmas music. A «poetic fire garden» and a wide range of culinary delights complete the Christmas experience days in the zoo.
