Museums and galleries may open under strict conditions. Customers must show a current negative corona test. Other cultural institutions currently remain closed. Further information »
With her new works, Cindy Sherman once again examines the formation of identity as a social construction. Since the 1970s, the New York-based artist's photographs have been exploring identity, gender and role distributions. Sherman appears in a variety of disguises and challenges the viewer to a critical perception of subjectivity and sexuality. The ten photographs shown in Berlin show the artist in the role of androgynous characters in elegant, gender-neutral designer clothing.
