Hassan Sharif: I Am The Single Work Artist

Hassan Sharif is one of the most influential artists of the 20th century in the Middle East. KW Institute for Contemporary Art presents the first major retrospective of the conceptual artist in Europe.

In his works, Sharif breaks with the traditional notions of space, time, form and social interaction. About his creative process Hassan Sharif once said: «I'm not trying to make magic of some kind that would impress an audience as to how the work is created. There are no secrets. The philosophical or psychological question here is how, as an artist, I give myself the authority to make art.»
