And Berlin will always need you

The exhibition in the Martin Gropius Bau presents contemporary works of art by over 20 artists living in Berlin.

The focus of the first exhibition in 2019 in the Martin Gropius Bau is the contemporary artistic scene of the capital.

Craft, decor and artefacts

The artists were invited to show existing and new installations and works that deal with craft, decoration, materiality and artefacts. The artworks provide insights into craftsmanship and artistic techniques within current production cycles as well as into the construct of the institution of an exhibition house with its displays, interpretative sovereignty and power structures.

Participating artists

Among others, works by Haris Epaminonda, Nevin Aladağ, Leonor Antunes, Antje Majewski, Alice Creischer and Andreas Siekmann, Mariechen Danz, Olaf Holzapfel, Dorothy Iannone and Olivier Guesselé-Garai, Willem de Rooij, Theo Eshetu and Chiharu Shiota are on display.
