Zehlendorf: Residential Areas & Infrastructure

Zehlendorf has a high density of single-family houses and villas, but also numerous housing estates. The district is very green.

Residential Areas

The western part of Zehlendorf with the districts of Wannsee, Nikolassee and Schlachtensee is very upscale and exclusive. In the south and east, the residential areas are more modest and somewhat less expensive.

Zehlendorf is located in the southwest of Berlin and borders Brandenburg in the far south. The district is located in the next to Potsdam.

Public Transport

The public transport network is relatively well developed in Zehlendorf. You can quickly reach the south of Berlin as well as nearby Potsdam. The S1 train stops in Zehlendorf-Mitte, Schlachtensee, Nikolassee, and Wannsee. The S7 and S5 (light rail) stop at Nikolassee and Wannsee and continue to Potsdam. The subway line U3 goes to Dahlem and Krumme Lanke. Numerous bus lines operate in the rest of the district.

Traffic Axes

The main road Zehlendorf is the B1 (Potsdamer Chaussee/ Potsdamer Straße/ Berliner Straße). Important for motorists are also Argentinische Allee, Clayallee/ Teltower Damm/ Machnower Straße, and Onkel-Tom-Straße. Zehlendorf is connected to the A115 highway towards the city ring road or in the direction of Berliner Ring.
