Kunsthaus Dahlem
Guided tour with an art educator
On the occasion of the exhibition: »When Politics Strategised Aesthetics«
In this public tour, art educators provide insights into the exhibition. Using representative works from the collection of the National Museum of Modern Art, the artistic transformations in former Yugoslavia under Tito between 1945 and 1960 are traced, which led to the coexistence of state-aligned, figurative art and free, abstract forms of expression. The focus is on artists who sought their own forms of expression between political control and artistic freedom.
The educators moderate the tour from different perspectives, using the artworks and exhibits as a starting point for a shared discussion with visitors.
Sunday, 12 April, 3:30pm, with Karen Michelsen Castañón
