The art of staying many

Nationwide Forums for Art, Freedom and Democracy

"The art of staying many" is a journey through eight German cities that stands up for art, freedom and democracy in a variety of encounters.

Two evenings at HAU kick off the programme: Following an impulse by the Federal Commissioner for Anti-Discrimination Ferda Ataman, the relationship between this triad will be the focus of a cultural-political discussion on 24 May between Joe Chialo, Berlin Senator for Culture and Social Cohesion, and Dr Carsten Brosda, Hamburg Senator for Culture and Media. In her lecture, journalist Mercedes Méndez will report on the current situation of the arts in Argentina before the tour truck stage opens with a performance, a DJ set and drinks. The following day, Janina Möbius' documentary film “Blickwechsel” will celebrate its premiere. The documentary film uses interviews with representatives of the scene to examine the resonances and social transformation potential between performing artists and their audiences. On both evenings and also as part of the Forum, the audience is invited to see Mariano Pensotti’s “La Obra”.
