Resistance in sequences. Drawing history together!

Comic workshop for beginners on Nazi forced labor

In recent years, the medium of comics has increasingly been used in Germany to examine National Socialism. On the occasion of the special exhibition "Žadkěvič und andere. Work, Coercion and Resistance", the three-day workshop offers the opportunity to approach the topic of forced labor under National Socialism through information, discussion and drawing.

Together, the participants will deal with the history of a resistance network of forced laborers and the resistance group "European Union" and create image sequences under the guidance of comic artist Elke Renate Steiner. The potentials, limitations and challenges of communicating history through the medium of comics will be reflected upon and discussed.Translated with DeepL
