Coronavirus incidence in Berlin at 198

FFP2-Maske

The incidence of Coronavirus in Berlin was at just under 200 on Thursday.

This was announced by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). For Germany as a whole, the number, which indicates the registered new infections per 100,000 people in seven days, was given as 223. The values have been hovering around this range for some time.

Still high number of unreported cases

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts assume a significantly high number of cases not recorded by the RKI - especially because by far not all infected persons have a PCR test. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.

1599 new infections reported

According to the RKI, 1599 new infections were reported for Berlin within one day. The total number of registered cases has risen to around 1,238,000 since the start of the pandemic in spring 2020, with three additional deaths reported. According to the official figures, there have thus been 4773 deaths related to Corona infections in Berlin since the start of the pandemic.
