The Coronavirus incidence in Berlin has reached 537 on Thursday (July 07, 2022). This was announced by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
A week ago, the incidence had still been at 423. The nationwide incidence, which indicates the number of registered new infections per 100,000 people in seven days, was at just under 691.
However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts assume that there is a high number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected persons have a PCR test. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.
According to the RKI, 4487 new infections were reported for Berlin on Thursday within one day. The total number of registered cases rose to nearly 1,125,000 since the start of the pandemic in spring 2020. Two additional deaths were reported. According to the official figures, there have thus been 4658 deaths related to Corona infections in Berlin since the start of the pandemic.
