Incidence in Berlin falls further to 268

Corona-Tests

The incidence of corona in Berlin has dropped again. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the value of new registered infections within seven days per 100,000 people was 268.3 on Saturday morning compared to 282.0 the day before.

On Thursday and before, the 7-day incidence was still above the 300 mark. Nationwide, the 7-day incidence on Saturday was 342.0, also below Friday's value.

1699 new Corona infections reported

According to the RKI data, there were 1699 new infections Berlin-wide, bringing the total number of registered cases to 1,038,838 since the start of the pandemic in spring 2020. A further 4 deaths were also reported. According to the official figures, there have been 4578 deaths related to Corona infections in Berlin since the start of the pandemic.

Not all Corona cases are registered

However, experts assume that many Corona cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. Only these are counted in the statistics. In addition, not all health offices report their data on a daily basis; especially at the weekend and at the beginning of the week, there can be a delay.
