Coronavirus incidence in Berlin falls below 1000

The Coronavirus incidence in Berlin continues to decline and was at 977.1 on Friday morning (Feb. 18, 2022).

30 more deaths reported

On Thursday, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days had still been at 1034.4, already down from 1414 a week ago. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the incidence in Berlin is thus well below the level of the national average (1371.7). According to the Senate's situation report, 30 new Covid-19-related deaths were reported on Friday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4205 people in Berlin have died in connection with the virus.

Hospitalization rate down

The number of patients arriving at hospitals per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days averaged 23.8, according to the Senate. The corresponding traffic light of the warning system remains on red. The occupancy rate of intensive care units with Corona patients is currently at 15 percent.
