The annual World Press Photo Award is the world's largest and internationally recognized competition for press photography. The exhibition is presented at the Willy Brandt House in Berlin.

The jury selected from around 70,000 photos by 4200 photographers from 125 countries. The winning photos will be shown in an exhibition in over 45 countries. The exhibition World Press Photo was put together from the winning photos of the different categories and will be shown for the 17th time at the Willy Brandt House in Berlin.

Yasuyoshi Chiba's "Straight Voice" is the press photo of the year

The picture "Straight Voice" by the Japanese photographer Yasuyoshi Chibas was awarded the "World Press Photo of the Year" in 2020. The photo shows a young man, illuminated by mobile phones, reciting protest poems while protesters chant slogans for a civilian government during a power cut in Khartoum, Sudan, on June 19, 2019.
