Sony World Photography Awards 2022

October 21, 2022 - January 15, 2023

Nature photography, portraits and abstracts - in 2022, the Sony World Photography Award will once again honor the best contemporary photographers. This year's edition received more than 340,000 submissions from 211 countries.

The Sony World Photography Awards were launched in 2007 and have been presented annually since then. Every year, numerous international photographers take part in the competition. In 2018, with Candida Höfer, a German photographer was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution to Photography" for the first time.

Winner of the Sony World Photography Awards 2022

The exhibition in Berlin honors works from the entire spectrum of photography. From art students and amateurs to professional photographers, great photographs from every perspective and in every style will be shown. This year, the "Photographer of the Year" award goes to Adam Ferguson from Australia. Ferguson's winning photography series "Migrantes", a black and white series of self-portraits of migrants in Mexico waiting to cross the border to the United States, will be on show in Berlin.
