It Runs in the Blood

It Runs in the Blood is a short documentary that bridges intimate family memory with collective historical struggle. Set against the backdrop of the Marcos dictatorship in the Philippines during the 1970s and 1980s—a pivotal era of the People’s Power movement—the film weaves together archival photography and personal storytelling to explore what it means for activists today to hold the line and prevent history from repeating itself.
Following the screening, filmmaker Innah Gaspar joins us for a conversation on memory, intergenerational activism, and the role of storytelling in keeping histories of resistance alive.
Innah Gaspar is a Filipino filmmaker and storyteller whose work explores the intersections of personal memory, political history, and collective struggle.
