Mold-Making & Mold-Blowing Workshop (4 Days)

Monday–Thursday, 10:00–16:00
This intensive four-day workshop runs from Monday to Thursday. By selecting the first date, you will automatically be registered for all four days.
During the workshop, participants will focus on the core skills of designing and constructing high-quality multi-part molds for glassblowing, and then using them in the hot shop to form two finished objects.
Working with molds is one of the oldest glassmaking techniques, with a history spanning more than 2,000 years. Today, it remains one of the most powerful tools in contemporary glass practice, allowing artists to explore repetition, variation, and form.
Over the course of the four days, participants will design and build their own multi-part molds, prepare them properly for hot use, and bring them into the hot shop. There, molten glass will be gathered, blown into the molds, and shaped into finished forms. Students will learn how to assist the gaffer, understand the rhythm and timing of mold work in the hot shop, and experience the full process — from mold concept to blown object.
The central goal of this workshop is to provide a solid, practical foundation in mold construction and mold-blowing, so that participants leave with real understanding and transferable skills, rather than one-off results.
Experimentation is an essential part of the glassmaking tradition. This workshop is designed as a learning environment: some pieces will surprise you, some will challenge you, and every attempt will teach you something. Come with ideas, curiosity, and a willingness to try — the more you put in, the more knowledge you will take home.

Our classes are designed to teach techniques rather than guarantee a finished product. If your piece breaks during the session, we cannot refund the class fee or provide a free replacement class.
