Berlin Central Station is located close to the government district in the heart of Berlin. The Central Station is also a regional train station and has a direct link to Berlin's S-Bahn network. From there it takes about 10 minutes to get to Alexanderplatz or Station Zoologischer Garten by S-Bahn.

There are two customer service centers of the Deutsche Bahn located inside Berlin Hauptbahnhof station. The DB Information Point is the central point of contact for information about your rail journey and a meeting place for travelers and station visitors. Here you can get answers about train connections, the train station, and the city of Berlin.

Deutsche Bahn Travel Center

At the DB Travel Center, you can obtain national and international train tickets, seasonal tickets and monthly subscriptions, as well as offers related to the BahnCard loyalty program. Furthermore, the staff can assist you with information on departures, ticket fares and tariffs, and supplementary services and offers for your rail journey.

Berlin Central Station offers connections to the following local public transport lines: S-Bahn S3, S5, S7, S75, S9 Subway: U5 Bus: 120, 123, 142, 147, 245, M41, M85, N20, N40 Tram: M5, M8, M10

Transport to Airport Berlin Brandenburg (BER)

The Airport Express train (FEX) runs from Hauptbahnhof to BER Terminal 1/2. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the S-Bahn line S9, which terminates at the station BER Airport Terminal 1/2. The journey by S-Bahn takes around 55 minutes.

Amenities at Hauptbahnhof


For security reasons, the lockers at Hauptbahnhof are located in the car park outside the main building in area C on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. Depending on the size, the lockers cost between 4 and 6 Euros a day.


The Deutsche Bahn offers free WiFi service at Hauptbahnhof. Users have to switch on their mobile device and then select the network "WIFI@DB".
