The Coronavirus incidence in Berlin has hardly changed over the past days and was at just under 357 on Friday according to RKI data.
On the days before, the number of new infections within seven days per 100,000 people had reached similar values. The RKI gave a nationwide incidence of around 486 on Friday, a value that also changed little.
Almost 2,500 new infections were reported for Berlin within one day. Since the start of the pandemic in spring 2020, just over one million infections have thus been registered for the capital. Eight new deaths were reported. Thus, a total of 4544 deaths related to Corona infections have been counted in Berlin since the start of the pandemic.
However, experts assume that many Coronavirus cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed up with a PCR test. Only the latter are counted in the statistics. In addition, not all health offices report their data on a daily basis, which can lead to delays, especially at the weekend and at the beginning of the week.
