The service is particularly well-suited for people without internet access, said Silbernetz spokesperson Amira Mahdi. Older adults can sign up for the service by phone and also receive advice over the phone on how to stay safe, such as protecting themselves from the heat, finding cool places to stay, or storing medications safely. If needed, Silbernetz also arranges practical assistance from volunteers, such as help with shopping or picking up medications. The organization is currently seeking additional volunteers to expand the service. The service is free of charge, and registration for the heat service can be done by calling (030) 544 533 0 533.
