Corona incidence in Berlin remains well below national average

Corona-Test

Berlin health offices continue to register comparatively few Corona cases.

In the past seven days, according to official data, about 413 out of 100,000 people in the city became infected, the Robert Koch Institute said Saturday (April 23, 2022). Thus, the so-called seven-day incidence was higher than on Friday, when it was estimated at around 314. The nationwide value was on Saturday, however, with just under 822 almost twice as high as in the capital.

Experts assume high number of unreported cases

After the omicron wave of the pandemic reached Berlin earlier than other parts of Germany at the beginning of the year, the city has been the federal state with the lowest Corona numbers for weeks. Experts point out that many cases are probably not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test.
