"MuseumsMeileMitte" Opens at Berlin Central Station

Nachbarschaftsfest zum Start eines neuen Museumsviertels

Four museums are part of the "MuseumsMeileMitte."

There is a new museum district right next to Berlin Central Station. The Museum of Natural History, the Hamburger Bahnhof, the Futurium, and the Charité Museum of the History of Medicine have joined forces to form the "MuseumsMeileMitte."

This will be celebrated on Saturday with a neighborhood festival, including free admission to all four museums. There will be workshops, guided tours, scavenger hunts, and film screenings. The museums are located about a 10- to 15-minute walk from one another. According to the press release, the museums already attract two million visitors to the area each year. In the future, there will be joint events and programs.

Walks through unfamiliar neighborhoods around Invalidenstraße

For example, guided walking tours are designed to help visitors discover lesser-known spots in the area around Invalidenstraße. Along the former Berlin Wall, the neighborhood, along with local institutions and businesses, is giving rise to “a district that is actively shaping the city’s future,” said Till Fellrath, director of the Hamburger Bahnhof.
