If you've always wanted to see what an outdoor pool looks like at sunrise, you'll have the chance on June 21.
On the longest day of the year, which falls on a Sunday this time, the Insulaner outdoor pool will open as early as 4:30 a.m. and won’t close until 9:30 p.m., according to the Berlin Public Bathing Authority. This means that the start of summer there will likely feature not only the longest day of the year, but perhaps also the longest outdoor swimming day of the year.
If you're looking for a change of pace after a few hours in the water, you can head over to the neighboring Shakespeare Company grounds in the afternoon: There, music will be played starting at 4 p.m. as part of the Fête de la Musique. With a receipt or proof of a season pass, swimmers can go back and forth between the concert and the pool.
