Slight increase: Coronavirus incidence in Berlin still above 1000

The Coronavirus incidence in Berlin has increased slightly.

The incidence was at 1087.4 on Friday morning (March 25, 2022), according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). The day before, it had been at 1061.0. The value indicates how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered in the past seven days. Berlin continues to have the second lowest incidence of all German states after Hamburg. The national average is currently at 1756.4.

High number of cases probably not officially recorded

However, experts assume that a high number of cases are not officially recorded. They see reasons in the overloading of health offices and in the fact that many infections are no longer confirmed via a PCR test.

Nine new deaths

8106 new infections were reported on Frida, bringing the total since the beginning of the pandemic to 875,626. The number of reported deaths related to the virus has increased by nine, bringing the total to 4346.
