The previous day saw a much lower incidence value of 336.3. After the holidays, with incomplete data, incidence values below 300 were still recorded. The number reflects how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been proven to be newly infected with the Coronavirus in the past seven days. The RKI had pointed out that a lower level of testing and reporting activity could be assumed ove the holidays, with the available data therefore offering "only an incomplete picture of the epidemiological situation."

Over 5000 new infections

According to the RKI, 5430 new infections were registered. The total number of all detected Covid cases since the beginning of the pandemic thus rose to 344,637. There were four new deaths related to Covid-19, bringing the total number of Coronavirus deaths in Berlin to 4029 since the beginning of the pandemic.
